Malagasy Pond Heron
Ardeola idae

First reported on 9 July 2005 from Rio Savanne north of Beira in Mozambique. Although not a full blown rarity in the subregion, it is an extremely rare winter visitor to the very eastern parts of Southern Africa, with most records from Mozambique.
